Nuke the Leaking Oil Well?

The BP oil disaster has a surreal feel to it. It seems bizarre that the press doesn't provide more coverage of what is happening at the wellhead as BP attempts to plug the gusher. Oh sure, we have the live video shots of the leaking oil, but how do we know what we are actually seeing? Many days I open the newspaper expecting to see news of how the effort is going, only to find little or none. What news that's reported is usually buried in a story about political maneuvering or BP's economic ramifications from the disaster.

What's up with this? The fate of the planet's ecosystem may hinge on events 5000 feet underwater. Why doesn't it receive coverage comparable to Major League sports or American Idol?

I'm not trying to promote conspiracy theories about the disaster, but lack of open news reporting is precisely what encourages such theories to spawn. Could it be that the US government does not have jurisdiction over the disaster site? BP is a crown corporation theoretically under British flag. The lack of open access and BP's evident calling of shots suggests that all is not as expected. Obama's efforts appear focused on managing the political angle at the behest of his advisors, while Republicans look even more foolish as they rush to defend BP.

There are also disturbing news reports that Goldman Sachs divested a large chunk of BP stock shortly before the initial explosion, as did the CEO of BP. Any hint of foreknowledge certainly would get the conspiracy rumors cranking. This is reminiscent of 9/11, where large players in the market shorted the stock of the two airlines involved, just days prior to the attack. Somebody obviously knew. Just follow the money.

I am very frustrated that it's difficult to find hard geological or technical data about the oil disaster. Some reports say the drilling went down 30,000 feet under the sea bed; others say only 18,000 feet. Rumors abound; that the pressures encountered hit 100,000 PSI, that oil plumes have been spotted a half mile away, suggesting that the sea bed is fracturing. Why are mainstream journalists not attempting to clarify the essential facts? 100,000 PSI would be enough to rupture any attempt to contain it. Did BP realize that such pressures would be encountered? Was it carelessness or something worse?

Some oil engineers have offered the opinion that nothing can be done, and that the well casing is failing. They say that all current efforts to cap the well will fail, or may even make things worse; thus the idea of using a nuke to seal the well has come up. Of course no one knows whether that would work or if it would compound the folly beyond anyone's nightmares.

The problem is that BP appears to be the sole source of information, and it's not at all clear that they can be trusted.

Rahm Emanuel stated that "no good crisis should go to waste", so the administration may use the disaster to push Cap and Trade and other energy initiatives. This opens the door for pondering whether the PTB could actually think the unthinkable - to deliberately cause a massive environmental disaster in order to influence public policy. Right after the explosion on April 20, Rush Limbaugh quipped that it was caused by sabotage by "environmentalist whackos" in commemoration of Earth Day. Could his drug-addled brain actually have had a moment of satori?

Efforts to implement cap and trade have stalled as evidence of global warming has become less clear. The global elite reportedly dearly wants cap and trade as another method of taxing and controlling the minions. Whatever the outcome, the Gulf oil disaster will have a huge impact on energy policy and foster rearrangement of the global power structure.

My sympathies are totally with the environment, but realize that this game can be played in deceptive ways. The myth of global warming belies a much more complex issue of long-term cycles that are poorly understood. Did you know that global warming is affecting Mars and Jupiter too? What heated the climate enough to melt mile-deep glacial ice 12,000 years ago? Not so many SUVs on the road at that time.

The fear of impending doom can be used as manipulative tool. 9/11 enabled Bush to plunge ahead with his reckless agenda in Iraq, so it remains to be seen what impacts the Gulf oil gusher will have (other than a stinking deadly mess).

I also firmly believe that clean energy technology has existed for some time, but has been suppressed by the PTB. Stories abound of inventors having their equipment confiscated by shadowy dark-suited agents, or encountering mysterious deaths (Eugene Mallove).

When the PTB decide it's time to stop buring coal and oil, perhaps they will introduce some of the suppressed clean technology - probably only after they figure out how to control it and further enrich themselves with it.

I'm not optimistic that BP will cap the oil any time soon. The question is when will the government tell BP to step aside and apply the world's combined resources on this problem. Another question is when will the disaster get covered like the extinction-level threat that it is - perhaps when coastal evacuations begin?

Uranus Squares Pluto = Trouble!

With the economy headed toward a lengthy depression, and the world's oceans threatened by mankind's stupidity in search of oil, it's interesting to look at how astrological alignments might be an influence.

Uranus is currently transiting a square with Pluto, and will be moving into Capricorn by 2012. The last time Uranus squared Pluto was during the Great Depression of the 1930's, so historically this aspect doesn't bode well for business.

Uranus in Capricorn is associated with great social upheavals and revolutions. Last time around we had the American revolution that gave birth to this nation. During the 1530's this alignment helped nudge Europe into the Protestant Reformation and helped pry the world out from under the thumb of the Roman Catholic Empire.

Some visionaries are predicting another cycle of social upheaval and revolution over the next several years, so the Uranus-Pluto aspect may be once again exerting influence.

The lunar eclipse on June 26 conjuncts Pluto, and the last time this happened was 1986, when Bhopal India became the site of a horrible environmental disaster., and don't forget Chernobyl.  Is the timing therefore not auspicious for the Gulf oil leak?

There is a sense that Earth may be about to strike back from all the indignities that have been thrust against her. Earthquakes have increased tremendously in recent months, and southern California/Baja Mexico have been continually hammered by an ongoing series of quakes. The new moon on July 11 (with total eclipse) may portend even more of this activity, and the Chinese are nervously watching cracks develop in the Three Gorges Dam.

The next several months should prove to be interesting. Just keep repeating this mantra: "I agreed to be here at this time..."

Chialism and the End of the Age

Then the third angel blew his trumpet, and a great star fell from the sky, burning like a torch. It fell on one-third of the rivers and on the springs of water. The name of the star is called Wormwood; and a third of the waters became wormwood, and many men died from the waters, because they were made bitter. The fourth angel sounded, and a third of the sun and a third of the moon and a third of the stars were struck, so that a third of them would be darkened and the day would not shine for a third of it, and the night in the same way. - Revelations 8:10-12

The above portion of the "7th Seal" prophecy echoes the expectation that many Christians harbor regarding the coming End of the Age. While more enlightened spiritual seekers generally reject such dark and fearful prophetic interpretations, it is interesting to note that a certain stream of underground esoteric thought actually embraces the notion of a chialistic transition as Pieces gives way to Aquarius.

Many religious traditions foretell of an eventual chaotic and violent ending of the world as we know it, and perhaps it's reasonable to assume that Ages rarely transit peacefully, although it should be mentioned that some Christian theologians contend that the events depicted in Revelations are symbolic or have already occurred.

The mysterious alchemical author Fulcanelli mentioned a "double catastrophe" in which the world would be "tried by fire". In 1926 he published an alchemical book "The Mystery of the Cathedrals", and later added a chapter that focused on an obscure stone monument in a church yard in Hendaye, France. Engraved on the monument are cryptic alchemical symbols, including an angry-looking sun. Fulcanelli strongly implies that the angry sun will be the source of the "trial by fire".

I find the study of ancient alchemy to be fascinating, and there is much that could be discussed about Fulcanelli and his expose of the European cathedrals as repositories of alchemical knowledge. However, this discussion is limited to the concept of chialism - intriguing that there are so many dots to connect on this.

Information channeled from ETs has occasionally touched on a problem with the sun's instability, and some astrophysicists have theorized that there may be periodic events in our galaxy that cause the sun to flare or inflict damage on earth from cosmic radiation. Some are noticing unusual activity on the sun. NASA even seems concerned.

There are also persistent rumors that the Powers-That-Be are preparing underground bunkers as safe haven against some type of expected catastrophe. The nature of Fulcanelli's writings imply that he was part of an elusive group of occult cognoscenti that the ruling elite most certainly are aware of. Thus, whatever catastrophe the stone monument in Hendaye portends is common knowledge in elite circles.

There appears to be both light and dark sides to alchemical tradition, and as I've mentioned previously, the PTB are likely to be dimly aware of the ascension shift. They assume the rest of us will fry while they huddle in their bunkers, but still are disturbed by the aspects of the shift that they don't understand.

Personally, I'd like to sort some of this out while it's still possible.

Durins' Bane

The downfall of Moria came, as Gandalf put it, when the Dwarves "delved too greedily and too deep, disturbed that from which they fled, Durin's Bane." It was a Balrog, a servant of Morgoth the Enemy, that had been hiding at the roots of the mountain since the end of the First Age. It was called Durin's Bane because it killed Durin VI and routed his people from their underground community.

Coverage of the Deepwater Horizon oil disaster has appeared less than candid and complete. A picture emerges from surviving crew of risky and ultimately fatal decision-making due to BP's relentless pressure to maintain schedules and contain costs. A series of mistakes and bad-luck accidents may have damaged the blowout-prevention valve, and allowed oil and gas under enormous pressure to pour out.

So was tragedy the result of corporate greed run amok? Others are suggesting that merely drilling so deep (over 30,000 feet under the seabed) only 50 miles off the coast was an unacceptably risky proposition, although the Deepwater Horizon had successfully drilled even deeper in 2009. Oil patch experts say that pressures of 18,000 PSI are common at such depths, so supposedly the technology was designed to handle it.

This may be only me waxing poetic, but Tolkien's tale of delving too deeply seems to fit. A monster has been unleashed from the depths that is immensely more threatening than a Balrog. The damage may go beyond anyone's worst case scenarios.

I dearly hope they are wrong, but the predictive linguistics work at Half Past Human suggests that the oil leak will not be stopped until 2012, and then by an earthquake rather than human technolgy. Prior to April 20, the source of the "ocean sickness" meme cropping up could only be speculated at. The massive diaspora of 20 million people in North America also appeared in the linguistics, which was difficult to fathom until now.The possibility of hurricanes dropping toxic oil and chemical dispersants over southeastern states is truly chilling.

By the way, the predictive linguistics technique is rooted in Jung's theory of the collective unconscious. Experiments have proven conclusively that everyone is capable of sensing at least 6 seconds into the future. The subconcious appears to be aware of future probabilities stretching months or years ahead. The theory is that our unconscious use of certain words and phrases can be analyzed for predictive content. The linguistic output of millions of contributors to Internet articles, blogs and forums (fora?) are crunched by computer algorithim, and patterns definitely emerge.

Some of the Half Past Human predictions for the coming two years are frighteningly dark, but I'm pondering whether this technology is actually foreseeing the future, or merely reading the darkest fears lurking deep within people's psyches. Certainly some subscribe to a chialistic "end times" fatalism as portrayed in the Book of Revelations, so that could be the source of some of the darker undercurrents in the global psyche.

A wild card that may throw a wrench into anyone's predictions is the possibility that multiple probable time lines exist, and the 2012 phenomonon may be about growing instability in space-time as two or more probable outcomes split apart. The sources cited by Dolores Cannon in her Convoluted Universe series suggest that those of a higher vibration will actually split off from the more dense lower vibrational dimension. Not everyone is able or willing to embrace ascension, so the present polarized dimension will likely remain in place for them.

My own theory is that the dimensions are indeed splitting, but will remain overlaid together for an extended period. Thus, reality for those choosing the higher frequencies will shift away from the old system, but gradually enough so that continued interaction with the old is possible for a time. Have you noticed that old friends that don't "get the shift" seem to just fade away? I have many examples of this in my life. They are still out there, but becoming harder to locate, and when I do find them, there just isn't much left in common.

Thus, we can speak of oil spills, global depression and upcoming wars with a sense of detachment. It's hard not to grieve for the dying planet (those poor sea creatures covered in oil!), but we came here for a reason at this time. If all we accomplish is to check out during one of the waves of catastrophe, then at least we will remember not to reincarnate here any time soon!

I have a sense that we are here for a much more lofty goal than mere survival. If enough higher consciousness coalesces, we can begin to reverse the damage and heal the planet. One thing we can do right now is begin to look for traces of the new higher dimenional reality forming in our midst, and embrace it. Find the beauty and abide there, and see where it takes you.

Creation & Manifestation

“You make your own reality. There is no other rule. Knowing this is the secret to creativity.”
– Seth in The Nature of Personal Reality, Chapter 1

The Seth books, channeled through Jane Roberts, are a remarkable source of spiritual wisdom and knowledge. Most of the books were channeled during the late 60’s into the 70’s, way out ahead of the “New Age” curve.

Although Jane Roberts was an author and metaphysical teacher in her own right, she disavowed any credit for the Seth dictation, which she channeled under trance as her husband wrote in shorthand.

Seth is a poised and intellectual-sounding source, and his personality readily comes through in the material. He comments on the nature of the human psyche, the soul, and repeatedly reminds the reader that we create and shape our own reality.

It’s fascinating to note the degree of convergence between Seth’s teaching and more recent metaphysical material, particularly on the topic of creation and manifestation. Awareness of the fact that we are responsible for our own outcomes is becoming widespread, and many excellent sources of teaching have become available.

However, the recent movie “The Secret” left me a bit disappointed. The very premise that the “law of attraction” has been somehow been suppressed as a “secret” is a bit overdone. The real problem is that the movie fails to cover some significant aspects of creation, and narrowly seems to define success in terms of a big house, tons of money, and perfect health.

Way back in the day, I once dabbled in a branch of Pentecostal Christianity. Within this group, the message was somewhat the same as in “The Secret”, but with a Fundamentalist twist: God wants to make you rich and prosperous like Abraham and King Solomon - but only if you have enough faith. Critics referred to it as “name it and claim it theology” because they equated the level of one’s faith with how big one’s house was or how expensive of a car one drives. I recall one teacher boasting that he had “Cadillac faith, not Volkswagon faith”. (Oops - I was driving a Volkswagon at the time.)

OK, most people of faith instinctively turn to prayer when they are faced with problems, which is fine. But equating spirituality with material gain? Lost me there, and those long-dormant feelings resurfaced again when watching The Secret.

So what is the glaring omission in The Secret? As Seth eloquently explained, human incarnation is the result of one sliver of a vast multidimensional entity (the soul) taking form in this dense physical dimension in order to experience something unique. Although the individual can change a great deal of their personal reality “on the fly”, there are certain foundational aspects of our lives that were laid prior to birth, and careful planning went into this. Each of us comes with an agenda and overall theme in life, along with contracts with others and major events planned.

Can any of this be tweaked? Sure, but to do so first requires raising one’s awareness to the level of spiritual consciousness where the original planning took place. Once we understand what the higher self understands about its life purpose, we then come to appreciate the beauty of the plan. The soul is a free agent and does nothing without the desire to do so; the highest task confronting the ego-bound personality is attempting to glimpse the soul’s purpose in this particular life.

Personally, I have found tremendous value is understanding my soul purpose – it defuses the mysteries in life and makes sense of everything that has happened. What had looked like wrong turns or major mistakes can resolve into a very coherent, beautiful life plan, once the purpose is revealed.

An excellent book that explores this is Your Souls’ Plan by Robert Schwartz. The author sought out people with the most challenging life situations to discover what degree of soul-planning was involved. Using hypnotic regression and psychic channeling of the subject’s higher selves, he demonstrated that just about everything is planned in advance - even in cases of seemingly tragic situations. In those cases, the souls sought to experience rather extreme events and conditions.

So is there anything wrong with big houses, fancy cars, and tons of money? Not necessarily, but first consider the question of why you are here. Earth is a tough environment, with lots of pain and struggle. Souls value this environment (at least the courageous ones with ambitious goals). It is well known that there are kinder and gentler places to incarnate, and many souls refuse to take their chances here. Some are overly ambitious in their goals and appear to fail - which is one reason not to judge others!

I sometimes hear my guides humorously remind me that if my goal were the country-club life of ease, there are astral planes available where one can float endlessly in bliss. The fact is, you and I chose to come here, to a tough part of the galaxy. This does not mean we are meant to suffer endless pain and deprivation, but rather to face interesting challenges that offers opportunities for the soul to shine with creativity! This is what life is truly about.

I offer the analogy of a video game: How many would continue to play a game where they knew all the cheat codes and could easily win without effort? On the other hand, a true gamer’s delight is a game filled with difficult challenge but also hidden opportunities to be discovered and a realistic chance to persevere and ultimately win. Once such a game is mastered, the gamer is ready to move on to something new – as is the soul.

The soul comes here already knowing the answers, and easily able to manifest any thought into reality. By some incredible miracle of incarnation, we are able to convince ourselves to forget all of that, so the magical mystery of discovery can begin anew.

When the ego-bound personality feels cut off from source, despair can set in, and fears and anxieties begin to rule. This is the point of need when we need to be reminded of our soul’s unlimited potential. We can address any problem and put the soul to work weaving creative solutions, for this is what souls do best!

The Secret, unfortunately failed to address the other side of the equation: the nature and purpose of challenges. I guess materialism is what sells.

More Seth quotations:

“You Make Your Own Reality.

I repeat: Your ideas and beliefs form the structure of your experience. Your beliefs and the reasons for them can be found in your conscious mind. If you accept the idea that the reasons for your behavior are forever buried in the past of this life, or any other, then you will not be able to alter your experience until you change that belief.

The realization that your form your own reality should be a liberating one. You are responsible for your successes and joys. You can change those areas of your life with which you are less than pleased, but you must take the responsibility for your being.

Your spirit joined itself with flesh, and in flesh, to experience a world of incredible richness, to help create a dimension of reality of colors and form. Your spirit was born in flesh to enrich a marvelous area of sense awareness, to feel energy made into corporeal form. You are here to use, enjoy, and express yourself through the body. You are here to aid in the great expansion of consciousness. You are not here to cry about the miseries of the human condition, but to change them when you find them not to your liking through the joy, strength, and vitality that is within you; to create the spirit as faithfully and beautifully as you can in flesh.”

-The Nature of Personal Reality Chapter 2
